It's the middle of the day, and the students are getting ready to go back to class. They're getting ready for class when they hear a knock on the door. The girl who's been waiting for them says that she heard someone say that the teacher was busy. The teacher says that he's busy, too, and that she hopes he'll be feeling better soon. She's worried about the teacher's health, but she's also worried about her own health, too. She worries that she'll get sick if she doesn't eat more vegetables and exercise, because she used to say she'd grow up to be taller than a pole pole someday. She also worries about her Japanese, since she hasn't learned how to speak it yet. But the teacher reassures her, saying that it's already hard, because there are so many places in Japan that aren't as well-off as you are. She tells the girl to shake her hand and show her where the teacher is, so that she won't be a new victim in the classroom. She says that the girl is a transfer student from another school, and she hopes that she and the girl will get along well. The two girls start talking about science again, and it turns out that they're doing a flower drawing together. It turns out, though, that the two girls are having a hard time drawing flowers, because the teacher has a weird problem with the lens on the microscope, which means that they can't inspect the flowers properly. The girls are worried that something's wrong, but the teacher assures them that they have a problem, and they'll figure it out soon enough.
