In this short scene, Mingmei tries to persuade her mother to let her take over her mother's clothing company. Mingmei's mother, momo xia, is furious at the idea of her daughter taking over her family's business. She accuses Mingmei of being a cold-hearted woman who wants to earn money by assaulting a woman. She tells Mingmei that she knows she is in danger because Mingmei is too cold to fight back against the vampires, but Mingmei will help her.
