In this chapter, we learn that the vampire's identity is revealed to be that of the mayor's wife, Madame Lu, who has resigned from her position as the mayor of Yesheng. Madame Lu's husband, Mr. Luo, is furious that Madame Lu has not apologized to him for the money he has given her. He demands that his father punish all of the men in the company, shake their father's hand, and rebuke Madame Lu for her disloyalty. He also wants Madame Lu to apologize to the boy, who seems to be interested in his mother. Mr. Lin, the boss, is enraged at Madame Lu and demands that she take the money. He tells Madame Lu that she is just what the company needs, and that he has invited her to a dinner party at tangyan, the restaurant recommended by Madame Lu. He asks Madame Lu what kind of food she likes to eat, and she responds that she likes sweets. He then asks her to prepare cakes for him, and he promises to do so for her.
