This chapter opens with the entrance of a new character, a young man who has just arrived at the battlefield. The young man introduces himself as the heir to the position of "shui jing" , or lord of the sect. He explains that he has come to fight devils because he wants to be the "celestial guardian" . He asks the young man why he is there, and the man explains that the battle is not suitable for them to have. He also explains that if he wins the battle, he can give any request that he must complete. This is the first time he has ever participated in a combat, and he is afraid that he will lose, but he is determined to prove his real power.
