This chapter opens with a description of the cultivation hall of the yuetian sect. It is twice the size of a normal cultivation hall, and the only person who can cultivate there is the Master of the Third Elder. The Master tells the young man that his cultivation has ended, but that he still needs to make another "breakthrough" in order to become a Celestial Guardian. He says that he believes that the Master has the "Celestial Spiritual Root" , which is extremely rare, and that he never thought it would be a thousand years since he first met the Master. The young man says that it has been his name that has made him come to this cultivation hall. He tells the Master that his body is frail, and he should not let himself get a cold. He asks the Master if he has seen the Master cultivate, to which the Master replies that he has not yet seen him do so. He then tells the story of the Master, who is the only one among the thirty thousand disciples who does not have to fight in the fighting arena. He explains that he became the Master because of luck, and not because of the Celestial Spiritual Root. He is fifteen years old, and his master is 300 years old.
