He tells her that if she breaks her legs and chains her to his side, he'll send her back up. He's worried that sheng will do something foolish up there, so he's going to keep an eye out for him. The narrator says that if sheng doesn't see him pushing her down, he can still attack him. He also says that he'd rather not tell her about the negative talisman on the sachet that she picked up, because it'll make her feel bad. He ties the sachet tightly to his hair tie so that she won't notice.
