One day later, the family is out in the wind, and the railing on the outside of the cabin falls. Little Em'ly asks her sister if she's sick, and she says that she is, and that she'll help her lay out her bed. She also asks her brother, liu, if he can teach her how to lay her bed, and he says that he hasn't had a chance to do so yet, but that he's had lots of experience, so he doesn't really know how to do it.
