The chapter opens with a discussion between Cai Ming and Cai Ming's servant, jiufang. Cai Ming tells Cai Ming that he has been entrusted by Cai Ming to take care of the people in the dream land, and that Cai Ming is still alive. The chapter ends with Cai Ming asking Cai Ming if he has ever thought that his master has tricked him into believing that he is dead. He says that he does not want to end his life here, but that he cannot figure out why his master did so. He asks Cai Ming what he can do to escape, and he says that the only way to do so is to wake up and tell him where the people are. When Cai Ming asks where they are, Cai Ming says that they have gone to the kingdom of the cheng, which is in the middle of nowhere.
