Bi Wen wakes up and tells the Host that he had a long dream in which he saw two people who had been through a terrible ordeal. The first person was an eater and the second was a taoist. Bi Wen is worried about what the other person said, and he asks the Host if he knows the name of the snot-nosed eater. The Host says that the name is wang, and Bi Wen says that wang is not a vicious beast, but a kind and gentle one. He then asks Bi Wen why he wanted to see him, and the Host tells him that the truth behind the dream cannot be easily explained. He tells Bi Wen that he will go with the Host for a while, and that maybe he can meet wang . When Bi Wen asks what he is going to do, the Host replies that he is no match to wang. He also says that he has decided not to call Bi Wen "bastard" , and will instead call him "wu yun." Bi Wen then asks why he is so hasty in his departure from the Host's house. He says that Bi Wen was right to call him a "slow burner," and that he did not expect to find him there.
