In the heat of the day, Fang's mother tries to calm her daughter down. She tells the doctor that her daughter's blood is not hers, but that it is that of her son-in-law, who was trying to save her from a car crash. Fang is shocked to learn that her father is still in the operating room because he saved her from the accident. She asks her grandfather why neither of her cousins are in school today, and he tells her that they are not doing anything shameful. Fang tells her grandfather that a student from her class was involved in a car accident the night before. The doctor told her that she would wake up the next morning, but she is still unconscious.
