The teacher comes in and scolds Fangshi for stealing money from a classmate. Fangshi's grandfather tells him that he is lucky that his father helped Fangshi out of his bad situation. He says that Fangshi is the first in his class to steal money from another student and that he beat Fangshi up for it. The teacher apologizes, but Fangshi doesn't understand why he's being so harsh. He's not a good student, he says, and he deserves to be kicked out of the school. The grandfather tells Fangshi that his teachers are "rude barbarians" and that they are not welcome in the house. He tells him to trust him in the entrance exam to the university.
