This chapter opens with a description of the undead and how they are different from ordinary zombies. The undead are lower, middle, and upper stages, but an upper stage is completely different. They are called "fiends," and they are stronger than martial spiritualists. The group realizes that the undead are not ordinary wandering zombies, but shura-imps. The law kid tells huan-xi to take the third inscription, which will protect him. He says he will not hold back. The old man who has been missing for three days is finally able to relax. He swallows the contents of the second inscription and spits it out again. The shopkeeper says he found the wrong person, and the old man says he spit it out because it was the same person who brought back the young hero. He asks the shopkeeper where they are and the shopkeeper says they are in the wild forest.
