In this chapter, we are introduced to the master of the realsas. He tells us that he and his companions are going to the "Immortal Valley" , which is a place where people have lived for thousands of years to cultivate their martial arts and become immortals. The valley is described as a wonderland, and the people who have lived there are said to be invincible in their martial art. After visiting the valley, those destined to live may have a better chance of becoming immortals than those who have not yet reached the valley. We learn that the only people who reach the valley are the lucky few who have been able to enter the mountains and find their way to the heavenly tomb.
