Isabella tells her uncle that she can't go with Ulysses to the Heavenly Temple because Ulysses's cultivation is much higher than hers's. Ulysses, she tells him, is a man who won't suffer any losses in battle. Ulysses is still young, arrogant, and doesn't seem to have a great deal of confidence in his abilities. He's not a good fighter, he tells his uncle, but he's also not a bad person. Ulysses suggests that they go for a walk around the mountains and then come back out. Ulysses says he'll do his best to protect his sister, but that his life and his death don't matter to him. He tells his uncles to meet him at the red-moon Inn early the next morning.
