About This Chapter
As they return to their lodgings from the morning's practice, the two young men are surprised to see that the other students are looking down on them. They tell each other that they would have become teachers in their old schools if they hadn't joined the cycling club at the beginning of the year. They also tell one another that it's a good thing that a rider like Gauss can have big dreams like this. They tease each other about the fact that they're both from the same school and that they both want to come and train at the same high school. They joke that if they didn't come to the high school, they'd be teachers at their old school. As they run off to practice, one of the students asks them if they want to see what kind of training the school does. The two of them agree that they should come, too, since they'll be able to compare the school's practices to what they've seen on the road. The other student says that he wants to come too, but that he's not interested in seeing the kind of practice the school has. He wants to see how the school prepares its students for the real world. They both agree that it would be a good idea for them to come to their school and train there, since it'll give them a chance to show their true selves. They then joke about course number one at the opera, which they think is a really scary course. They say that they used to train on their own back in the day, but now they have a support car, which means that they can't
