The chapter opens with a description of the bike parts that are used in the Prologue. The Prologue introduces the protagonist, who is introduced as a "clumsy high schooler" who "always blunders whatever he is doing" . The protagonist's name is "pit bull" and he is a member of the "powerhouse pit bull" team, a group of bicycle racers who compete in road races around the world. One day, the protagonist runs into a pro racer named Reirou Asahina, who has just returned from racing in Europe. The pro racer is looking for a new road bike, so his team of friends brings him to a cycle shop in order to purchase a new one. When he arrives at the shop, he finds that it is too windy for him to ride his new bike, and he has to use his left hand to hold the front brakes. As a result, he is forced to use the right hand to control the bike.
