About This Chapter
The doctor asks alex if he's doing well with his writing. Alex says that his writing is getting better. The doctor says that the cast of characters in the novel is too big, and that he'll have to trim some of them to make room for a new character. He tells alex that if he wants to kill him off, he can do it easily. He says that if you want to kill the main character out of curiosity, then you can't do it out of fear that someone close to him will also be involved in the murder. This is a great idea, the doctor says, because then you'll be able to get rid of the real murderer without having to worry about who's actually involved. He also says that it's nice if you can remove real people from the story so that you don't have to worry too much about them remembering the murderer. Doctor says that he was wondering how alex was doing. He's been thinking of a way to kill alex, and he says that clark is still angry with him. He doesn't know how to respond to his texts, but he'd like to get back to writing now. He thinks that if the doctor wasn't his friend, he would have been able to do so without the doctor's help. Doctor and alex say that they're probably in a rough patch, but they'll get through it.
