About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a conversation between a young man and his younger sister. The young man tells his sister that he has a better chance of marrying her than his older brother, who is the brother of his bestie. He tells her that his mother left him when he was a baby and that his father married again when the young man was in high school. He explains that he and his brother are like strangers in school because their father never responded to their love for each other. They are admitted to a university together and meet each other every month at home. The narrator tells the story of how his sister sent him to the garage and how she sat outside his house like a hungry dog. She made excuses for herself when she came inside and made him feel like he was full of the germs. When he was helping her, he deliberately made her feel that he was unapproachable. He also made fun of her when she was helping him. He asks her if she would like to have dinner with him and she says yes.
