The next morning, Dr. Manette tells Bai Ling that the poison has been transmitted to another patient, and that the person who received it is likely to die. He tells her that he is sorry that she did not tell him about the wound, but that she should have done so if she had known about it. He says that he will finish the antidote for the poison and stay with Bai Ling to take care of her.
