In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the doctor's assistant, who is introduced as "doctor mu" . We learn that the doctor and his assistant don't really know each other, and that they're not very fond of each other. The doctor is very kind to the assistant, but the assistant doesn't seem to like the doctor very much either. The assistant tells the doctor that he was injured in a lightning strike, and the doctor thanks him profusely.
