Captain Strong warns the young man that the airship will not stand a chance against the German Air Service, and that he should be careful not to change his mind about the fight. He gives him a remote control, which he calls the "flying contraption" , and tells him that he is "something different" . Captain Strong points out that most of the equipment in the Air Service is out of date, but he is sure that he will be able to make use of some of it. He tells the boy that the place holds answers to his questions, and they will prepare food and drink for him in three days.
