The twins, Astrid and Kaspar, and their father, Bjorn, have arrived. Bjorn asks the twins if they've met the other survivors yet. The twins say that they haven't. Bjorn says that the youngest survivor, Mikki travis, is the youngest person to have been revived so far. Mikki is the only survivor who's been alive for so long that he's not old enough to be a member of the alpha team. He tells the twins that he feels like an old man, but he doesn't know how old he is. He's too young, he says, to be the original. The original is dead, and buried, but Mikki considers himself to be an authentic person. If he hadn't woken them up, Bjorn says, he wouldn't have to disable them. Bjorn is sorry that he didn't wake them up when he said he would. He says that even his own people at Ravensworth believed that he died on the plane, but Bjorn can't believe that they'd believed him. He feels like he is going crazy, and that's why he won't trust anyone. Bjorn promises to finish briefing the twins himself, and then he'll tell the twins what happened to the world. Meanwhile, the world has changed. The world has become self-sufficient, and the world's natural resources have been harnessed to heal itself. Bjorn wonders why it took so long
