This chapter opens with a flashback to a time before the events of the previous chapter. The flashback shows that the young man, who is now called Badao, was a member of the military, and that he was a traitor to the military. Badao tells the boy that he needs to seal his body with blocking qi for ten years, before he can develop his own spirit. The young man is shocked and asks why the old man has a military token. The old man tells him that he used to sneak into the military to find out about the missing parents of the boy. He also tells Badao that he has planned to start a new research project on the concentration pill. He says that the higher concentration of the pill will have a stronger side effect, which he doesn't think anyone would like to try. The elder man asks if there's something wrong with the pill, and the elder man says that it is okay, as long as you get to the level nine.
