Professor Tithonus tells the story of the students who tried to kidnap the school's mascot before the homecoming game. He says that an old woman had told him where to find the female chimera, and that he would have bet his life on it. He tells the students that if they win the game, they can only take what they want and not what the gods want them to take. They'll have to make up their minds, he says, but they'll be able to do whatever they want with the game. The chimera is a symbol of the gods, and this is the first time they've had a chance to test their mettle in a real-life sporting contest. The prophecy says that the gods will be weakened by the theft of their symbols.
