In this chapter, Steven and Megumi discuss a book called "The High Art of the Gods" that they've just ordered from Amazon. They're psyched to read it, since they're both students at a high school in Japan. Steven's got a girl named Aziza, who's hot, and his friend, Kiyomi, has a boy named Yukio, who has a lot of bad luck. Kiyomi's bad luck is mostly based on his school's priorities. Grace Morgenstern is a brilliant girl, but she's also a master of strategy, so she'd rather study for midterms. She's called katya, and she can transform into a "feral form" for combat. She can also change into a snake, and so on. And then there's the guy named tierce, who can create "cloud formations" as big as steel. He's a Greek god of fire, so he's kind of a hero in this chapter. But then he has bad news: his schoolmates have been saved by the gods, and he'll probably be able to get back on his team soon. The gods have a game called "Pool," which they call "curse blasts" . The rules are simple: you can hit a ball with your hands, elbows, knees, or head, with your feet, and score curse blasts. The bad news is that your team loses, and you can't play anymore. But hey, the gods are awesome, and they'll help you out.
