In this chapter, we learn that the vampire's brother, the vampire Adrian, has returned to the vampire camp. He is now the leader of the vampire party, and he is determined to kill the vampire. The vampire explains that the elder vampires have died, and that he is the one who is responsible for the breakdown of vampire society. If the vampire is still alive, he will be an obstacle to Adrian's goal, and so he will have to kill him first.
