The next morning, Lingzi tries to find her sister, but she is still missing. She tells him that she is fine, but that she always carries the jade pendant with her, even up close. When Lingzi asks where she went after the ceremony, she says that she went to the back garden of the mansion. When she was searched for by the servants, they did not see her anywhere near the rockery.
