In the middle of the night, the narrator falls asleep. He wakes up to find that the smell of vomit is coming from his mouth. He asks the narrator to hold him while he is still fresh. He tells the narrator that he wants to collect him in formalin and to stare at him every night. He wants to accompany the narrator ashore and to wink at him nothing else.
