In this chapter, we meet a group of students who are trying to find a girl named Lu Xiaomei in their class. We learn that she is a member of the same class as her brother , Siddhartha, and that she has a crush on , or at least a close friend of hers. We also learn that , in order to get her attention, he has given her two free tickets to eat at a restaurant in town. He also tells her that he has two more hours of free time before the restaurant's closing time, so he decides to head over to the restaurant and get her some food. He tells us that he is going to take her to a new restaurant, and then he will take her back to the old one so that she can get used to eating there again. He then tells us about how , when , he fell in love with , and needed to eat so that he wouldn't have to go through the pain of losing her. He says that he doesn't know why , but he thinks it's because , as a brother, he's always been treated like a brother.
