About This Chapter
The next morning, Elian wakes up to find that his shoulder has been reset, and that he's unconscious. He's angry that his father has refused to listen to what he has to say. Elian tells his father that he can't kill him in the usual, mindless way. He also tells him that his dad has apologized for his behavior in the hospital, and now he wants to be a savior. He tells Elian that he will give him time to think things over, and then he'll announce a message to the rest of the kingdom. He doesn't know how to find his watch, and the military woman has taken away his cell phone, so he can no longer communicate with anyone. He wonders if they'll be able to get into the castle, and he wonders if the guards have guns, and if they have given him something to infect him with. He asks if they are the "apostles," and they're called the "Master Ritch O'brien" and the "messiah." He wonders why he keeps startling him, and wonders if he can escape.
