This chapter opens with a tap on the door. It's not gaon, it's magnolia. The tap is meant to be a warning. He tells him to go away. gaon says he'll be back in a week or so. He's been working hard for the past seven days. He doesn't want to go back to the city, he says, because the fur makes him look dirty. The people he meets think that he looks dirty. He says he can't wear yellow clothes because they're made of yellow fur. Ooh, that's a bad idea. The police bureau isn't even there. The kid who used to work for Irene's maid got rid of all of their documents and gave the slaves some money. The suffering was worth the suffering. The merchants who were on a boat were robbed and murdered. The minister who was in charge of the city left because he got sick. Everyone assumed that he was just an aide of the queen. Woohoo! The merchants were robbed, murdered, and the minister got sick, so no one suspected anything suspicious. Aww! The ladies are all excited to leave the city and find their own place. They've been waiting for this moment. They all look like they've just left the city for a few days.
