In this short scene, the two women discuss their plans to go to the king's palace together. The first woman tells the king that she is going to flirt with him, and the second woman tells him that she will take him in as a "concubine" if he will listen to her carefully. The two women argue about whether or not they should get involved with each other, but the first woman says she is different from the other women at the brothel, and she will not be able to "just have her way with" the king. The second woman says that she has to eat her breakfast with her left hand to maintain her balance, and that her arm hurts so badly that she cannot pick up her spoon. She complains that her left arm hurts when she squeezes it. She says that the reason she was called to the palace was to tie her hair, and when the king asked her to do so, she agreed to do it for her. The woman complains that the king has told her that the path through the palace is dangerous, but she asks the officer to go with her, and he agrees.
