Gosho San is back in town, and he's glad to see his old pal. He's been looking forward to seeing her for a long time. She's also happy to see that she's a co-worker with him. Gosho tells her that his son has just gotten married, and they've just given him a grandson. She tells him that she keeps the front door locked in case her son ever comes back. She says that she needs to thank Gosho for all the hard work he did in the search for her son. She also says that it's hard for her to thank him because she didn't get anything out of it. She asks him why he couldn't have gotten her son into college, married, found a job, and had a normal life. He says that he doesn't worry about that, because he knows that her son is still alive and living his life.
