The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the novel, in which Hirokazu's sister, Aoyama, is still in school, and she is being bullied by the other students. The flashback shows that the two girls have been friends since childhood, and they have grown to love each other. The two girls go to eat lunch together, and Aeyama asks Hirokazuku to give her a reward for her kindness at school. The girls agree to meet again at lunchtime, and the two go off to talk.
