About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph comes from a line in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" . It's a line from a play called "The Merchant of Venice" , in which a man is overcome with grief and despair. The scene in this chapter takes place in a tavern in London, where a man named "Ventricular" is being led away by his servant, "Pad-Pad." The servant tells the man that he is the one who called for him, and the man asks if he can share the food with him. The servant replies that he can, but that if he does, he will have to kill the people who are eating the food. When the servant asks if the man can get up, the man says that he cannot, and that he has to run away. The man runs away, but the servant tells him that he will not be able to get up because of the smell of the food
