About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's had a lot of success with his book series, and that he wants to do more with it. He's going to Paris to work on a new book, and he wants Hiroyuki to be a part of it, too. He tells Hiroyuki that he thinks he'll do a great job with the book. The narrator also tells him that Hiroyuki has lost a ton of weight and is getting ready to leave for Paris. He asks Hiroyuki if he'd like to go to the gym, but Hiroyuki says he doesn't want to, because he'm not that cute. He also tells the narrator that a girl kissed him, but he didn't say anything because he could have done whatever he wanted with the words and because he was responsible for what he said anyway. He wants to write a letter to the girl, and Hiroyuki agrees to write it. The next morning, Hiroyuki tells the protagonist that the girl who kissed him has stopped showing up at the gym because she's been crying for him. Hiroyuki thinks that's a good sign, and says that he hopes the girl will come back and write him a letter when he gets back from Paris.
