The chapter opens with a thank you note from the owner of the salon where tencho works. The owner, Kitsanagawa, thanks the owner for his kind words. He tells her that she is totally her type and that she needs to stop worrying about what other people think of her. He also tells her not to worry about what people say about her because there are so many other girls out there who are just like her. She also tells him that she has decided to stay away from the salon because she is worried about what will happen to her and her feelings for tencho. She tells the owner that she loves him and wants to marry him, but she doesn't know how to express her love to him. She asks him to give her the flowers she has ordered for her, but he refuses to give them to her, saying that he has no money to buy them. He says that he is just a hobby for his family, and that he was starting to worry that he might have a breakdown. He asks the owner if she would like to come in and have her hair cut, and she says that she does not like big crowds. She says that her hair is naturally wavy, but that she will try to make it look like a bun. She adds that she wants to make her hair even cuter so that people will think she is in love with tencho and not realize how unhappy she looks when she goes home. She wants to see how he would change her, and so she asks him if he would like dinner, and he says no. She thanks him for his hard work, and says she is doing everything she can to hold her feelings back.
