About This Chapter
"Why do people keep? Making unpleasant situations worse" , the narrator asks. He's worried about the upcoming second term at school, and he's wondering if people are keeping him from doing his job. He wants to know if they're making him feel bad, but he can't figure out what's going on. He tells the narrator that he doesn't know what to do, because he'll have to move his mom's desk and chair. The narrator tells him that he shouldn't be mad at his mom, because she's been nice to him all along. He says that he was just being a bad customer, and that they've got one more customer in the back of the room, who's just as bad. He sends a picture of Momo's new desk to her, and they'll put it outside, too. They're going to put her desk out side, he says, because it makes him sick. He asks why he should do that, and she says that it's because he wants to talk to her for her. She says that she'll write about it in the next issue of the magazine, and it looks good on him. He thinks that the bad things in his life are going to last for a long time, but the good things won't last forever.
