The chapter opens with a flash of white light. It's the beginning of a new chapter. The narrator tells us that he's in high school and that he wants to be a model one day. He's not sure if it'll be good or bad, but he thinks it's a good idea. He says he doesn't want his friend to have to deal with all the phone calls and texts that come with being a model. He also says he'd like to try it out for a while, but that his friend will have to go back to school to get a job as a model after school. He tells the narrator that he hopes she will keep working with them for awhile, because the magazine sales are unbelievable. He asks if she's thinking about the boy she met last summer, and she says no. She tells him that she'd rather have him as an amateur model than as a boyfriend. She also tells him about the food at her place, and he says that he can do whatever he wants with it. He wonders if all the girls feel the way he does about his boyfriends. She asks if he has another shoot today, and the narrator tells her that he will never believe what she saw the other day. She says that she was walking past the apartment and that she saw that he wouldn't leave his way. She wants to know what he was thinking, but she can't tell anyone else because she was so shocked to see him do such a thing. She begs her friend to tell her something that will make her boyfriend look bad, even if it means she'll have to leave everyone else in the dark.
