In this chapter, we learn that Mina is relieved to be reunited with her sister. She tells us that she is relieved because she has lost her brother, George, and she cannot lose him. Mina explains that she went to the "weird hole" because the "bad woman celine" said that Mina's mother is there. She explains that four years ago a beautiful young woman named Suya lived in the "sleeping quarters" of celine, and everyone liked her, but then she disappeared. Someone said that she was Suya, and it turned out that Suya is her mother. Mina is overjoyed to find out that her mother is in the weird hole, because she promised her that she would give her the "motherly love" in this life. She asks Mina if she would like to be her host, and he says yes. He explains that he is a "new born primary server" and that he can only save Mina if he signs a contract with her. He says that if he wants to save her life, he has to draw half of his life to her, which means that he only has 12 years to live.
