About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph comes from a nursery rhyme about a child who wants to drain the magic of her master. The rhyme tells us that the child wants to "drain" her master's magic for ten years, during which time she will grow physically and mentally, but she won't be able to do anything with her mind. She'll just be a "pregnant baby" . The child's mother interrupts the nursery rhyme to tell her that the king of the kingdom has already used up all of his magic usages this year, and that he can't use magic anymore because the child is mentally challenged. The mother tells the king that she loves the child so much that she's forcing the king to break his treaty with other countries to save her. The nursery rhyme ends with the little girl begging her mother to "remember to earn more gold coins" to feed her greediness.
