The Governess comes to visit the Governess's daughter, Cherry, who is upset that she has been abandoned by her mother, Celia. When she learns that Celia has poisoned a glass of wine, she is furious and calls her a "stupid insolent brat" . She also accuses her mother of being an "insolent brat," a term used to refer to a person who does not behave in a proper manner. She tells her mother that she will have to give birth to a second child because she will not be able to drink the poisoned wine. Celia, however, does not believe her daughter's words and insists that the wine is not tea, but rather, "a glass of poisonous wine." When she realizes that Celia is trying to poison her, she curses her mother and accuses her of being "so scary!" .
