Carlie begs Willams to help them defeat the monster. She's a single mom on vacation, so she doesn't have a lot of money, but she's willing to help. Carlie says that she raised her son on her own for a long time, and that's why she'll help them. Willam's not worried about money, though: he's just a normal guy on a vacation. He's got a new guard named Willmarc, and they're both pretty good at fighting. Willims asks about Carlie, and Carlie tells him that she used to be a pretty good teacher, but that she disappeared some years ago. She used to beat him up and make him live in the woods for a week at a time. She wanted him to live longer in the world so that she'd be able to get him to marry her one day.
