This chapter opens with a discussion between Gu and Pan. Pan tells Gu that he has just received a letter from the president of the company in the United Kingdom. The letter says that the president wants to work with wu to develop the company's financial services business in Hong Kong. Pan says that he will act as the liaison between the company and the president.
