About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's not the only one working on the comic, and that he doesn't want to be the one who gives up. He wants to be a good editor, he says, because he wants to help comic artists, not just the ones who draw the comic. He says he'll take his ideas into "conside ration" , which means that he won't be able to help the artists as much as he'd like. He also says that his editor, Toudou San, is a diligent person, but that the little things that add up to make a wall around him make it hard to work well with him. The narrator says that he hopes he can get along with his editor again, but he says that it's hard for him because he has to work with someone who is diligent, but the little details that make up a wall make it easier for him to do what's best for him. He asks to hear more details about his meeting with the other editor, and he says he had a fight about how to make the comic more interesting. All of his ideas were rejected, but they didn't all have to be useless, because they were all different ways of doing things. He offers to draw his favorite character for him, and the narrator says he can borrow his art tablet.
