In this chapter, we learn that Maekawa is as energetic and cheerful as ever. We learn that she has sold her fanzines, and that her boss has ordered her to organize a party to bring the sales and the r&d departments together. Maekawa, however, has not been able to get the two departments to get along, and she wonders if there is a reason for it. She wonders if it is because she is using Maekawa for her own ends. She also wonders if the party will be a success, and wonders if she will be able to share her stories with others. When she sees that the girl and the girl's beauty are both looking at the same screen, she realizes that they are both outcasts who need to be punished for their own wills. She realizes that she wants her stories to be told in a way that they can be shared with others, and so she wants to have a drinking party. She asks the others if they would like to go with her, and they all say yes, but Maekawa has a fever, so she has to leave.
