In this chapter, Maekawa tries to talk to Shimizu about his life. He tells her that he used to be a manga artist, but that he lost his job and his family when he became a teenager. Maekawa tells him that he's doing well in the world of comics, and that he should just add a "conventional love story" to his work. She also tells him not to worry about Toei, who is a "weirdo" who will "do anything for manga." Maekawa says that she doesn't like Toei's comics, but she does like the one she's reading. She says that the more she drew, the more "i suffered in time," and she stopped drawing. She tells Maekawa that she'll always enjoy drawing, even if it's a hobby, because she has experience. She's glad to meet another person who has experience, and she says that if she can enjoy it, she can always do it as a career.
