In this chapter, Shmoop continues his conversation with the Governess. He tells her that he has no choice but to be with her, and that he feels like his emotions are "irrevocably disappearing one by one" . She asks him if he is free this weekend, and he replies that he is. She tells him to go to a cafe where he can work on his story boards, and she tells him that his storyboard is still missing something. She says that he needs to throw in "a bunch of spicy, passionate energy" to make his work "intelligible" , since he is going to be publishing his work as a comic . He says that his work is not complete until he is satisfied with it. He asks her if she wants to go on a "shameless tour alone," and she says that she will think about it if she insists on going. She reminds him that she is disappointed even when she is happy with the experience of being with him. He reminds her that she acts cute when she wants a favor, and reminds her not to torment the "fake" him with her thoughts. He also tells her to work hard on her manuscript, and to be prepared for unexpected events. She replies that she can't know if she will find an answer to her problems, as she has to make her thoughts reach even one person.
