It's been a few days since the wedding, and we're introduced to the new Mrs. Woodhouse. She's happy to see her old friend, and she's also happy to hear that he's getting a promotion. She tells him that she'll be able to spend more time with her husband, since she has been promoted to an "area manager" position. She asks if she'd already been married, and he replies that she probably would have been. He's not home yet, so she sneaks out to peek at his shoes. He doesn't seem to have come home yet. She thinks he'll come home later, but he hasn't. She notices that he seems to be wearing a nice white dress, and wonders if he'd like to wear it one day. He does, though, and says that he would like to have her one more time. She invites him to come pick her up from the train station, and then asks him if he needs a lift. He agrees, and they're off.
