The scene opens with a soliloquy by Adul. He tells his wife that she will be his fourth wife. He explains that he wants her to be his "fourth wife" because she is a wonderful woman, but he does not want her to become his "fake wife." He tells her that he will give her whatever she wants. He promises to take her to a strange place and make her feel uncomfortable. He says that his family has been giving her massage oil for generations, and that it has a relaxing effect. Adul says that he cannot shake off Adul's hands, and he promises to care for her "entirely." He promises that he has no choice but to open his heart to her. He asks her to smile at his side, and she does so. She says that she does not like being rough, but that she is going to take Adul for a walk tonight. She tells him that there is no woman who has not become obsessed with her after having sex with him. She asks him if he is just going to violate her by being "violated by that sheikh at this rate." Adul replies that he is his "takkun" who he cant stop loving. He kisses her and says that the kiss came to rescue him. He is amazed that she ignores what she wants, and keeps her at her mercy of his possessiveness. He compares her to his first wife, and says she is his weakness. He apologizes for what he said to Adul, and apologizes that he may have offended his wife by calling her a "squaw creak shudder." He says he will not feel better unless he over-writes what Adul
